I've got the same thing with mine, If I need to do anything with her she's on the colder side of the box. She has a hide on each side ( hot and cold ) and as with yours she does use the hot side after she has fed. I live in north Wales so we are pretty used to not having hot temps almost year round. The only plus side that I have found is that when I get her out to handle her she enjoys the heat from my hands and is great to handle. As to why she prefers the cooler side i do not know, but as one of your earlier replies stated the snake has the option and so must be where she feels the most comfortable.

good luck
