I have only heard of one other case where the rectum prolapsed in a snake and it was much worse off that she appears to be (that ones was out about two or three inches, hers is just sitting in the opening of the cloaca). Is there much else I can do? I dont want to push on it because I am sure it must be uncomfortable and I dont know if I want to take her to the vet just yet because it does seem to be retracting with time, but at the same time I dont want to wait too long if there isnt a method of treatment that I can do myself. Any suggestions from someone with experience would be great. Thanks

I had the same problem a couple of yearsago w/ a bci baby. supposedly cb. I keep hear in a small container with moist paper towels and some sugar was mixed in with the water to dampen the towels. Something with the sugar helps retract the prolapse. Wll, this didn't help. Went to the vetand it turned out she had parasites. The vetreinsered the flesh and pet in a couple of stiches. He sent me home with plenty of medicine and the rrest is history. Get your snake to the vet!!! Clint
