That means a large or extra large rat. I think what you are planning is a great place to start. After a few months, you will get a feel for what your invidivual snakes' metabolisms are like by how often they defecate and shed as well as their overall appearance (should hopefully be solidly muscled with no loose skin, but no skin showing through their scales either). You may end up adjusting their regimens depending on the time of year also. It's really just about getting to know your animals. Good luck with them and keep the pics coming!
