You would get a faster return on investment with a male spider when he breeds, if your ultimate goal is to produce a bumble bee, a female spider will get you there faster.

either way you win, I personnaly think co-dom wize, a male is a better investement just for the fact you can create your own army of females versus waiting the 2-3 year before a female can breed.
