First you didn't say what kind and how big . This matters because it would lens a clue to where it went. To my experience-for example Kingsnakes tend to go low where ratsnakes tend to hide higher.



I recommend waiting till late at night when the house sounds have died off and then patrol the house with a flashlight. Sometimes you can catch them out that way. Look in drawers and under things and also inside any boxes or shoes at ground level.
