I couldn't do the killing by hand thing so I just warmed up a FT and offered it warm on tongs. When they refused that I took a warmed mouse and scented it by rubbing it on my pet gerbil. (sorry little buddy, he was not too thrilled but it worked and I did not have to repeat the scenting) The gerbil is grateful I did not have to repeat the scenting. I rewarded him with extra gerbil treats. Every BP owner should have a pet gerbil but if not just go to a pet store and ask for a bit of used gerbil bedding from a gerbil cage and rub the mouse in that. They look at you funny but it works.
