First off I dont see a need for any BCI form to eat anything but Rat meat, from birth.Even our dwarf island forms will take right off on new born rat pinks @ 7-10 days. Yes it does kinda stretch some of their heads abit but LOL!! but they grow right into them within 3-4 weeks/feeds and never miss a step after that.
By 4 months they move to crawlers/weanlings,unless their slow growers then they get switched when they catch up to other littermates.
Run them straight out to 6 months and then extend them to 14 day feedings and hold to that pattern till 12 months.Future planned breeders stay on till mature (3 yr Island forms) and hold backs are extended to 3 weeks, then get rotated to 4 weeks and back to 3 weeks etc.(Got to have something to play with,so everyone cant be in DIGEST MODE all the time)
Full grown 4 years and up get a "Big Ole Juicy"(good head stretcher) every 30 days plus any of the extras that arent taken on others feeding days.
Breeder females of coarse get extra portions to prepare them.

Maintaining "lean" muscle mass is what we strive for here.

>>I have read a lot about power feeding and was wondering what is a good feeding schedule to have your snakes on? Can someone also decribe an OBESE snake too? What are the distinctions i should look for? I am currently feeding my 06's every 5-7 days and my older boas every 5-6 days. their meals are small usually small enough to where you might see a very slight bulge. Should I extend the days between 7-10 and feed a larger meal? Does slow growth affect a boa as far as being an 04 and length is about 4ft. Any info will be greatly appreciated.
