I prefer the lying method. My wife thinks I paid $500 for my pied and $1500 for my het Lavenders. I just don't let her come to any Reptile shows with me and I throw away all receipts before coming home. I also buy her an expensive purse/shoes every once in a while to keep her happy and to keep her from asking too many questions.
