Hi,

I have an adult male bp who has been treated for a belly scale infection. This guy has always tended to soak too long regardless of spraying the cage etc. so I assumed that was the cause. He's just finished a course of Baytril and topical antibiotic and I've changed his humidity hide and the cage heating just in case he did manage to burn himself. There is still some brownish discoloration on the affected scales, but no swelling, scale loss, or open sores. The rest of his skin is fine. He also just ate with great appetite. I've got 2 questions. Will the affected scales drop off or will the discoloration disappear with his next shed? Should I continue with the topical until the scales are gone? This is the first time I've had to treat something like this in all the years I've had him, so I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks!
