you can, and I M glad to hear that Ur dad is interested in keeping with the organic way of doing things
U would do best to look in the compost pile (the house one, not the barn one)
but be sure that U do not dig down hill of someone else who might be using fertalizers, or peciticides, or within 2 miles of flat tablewater (they can travel in the watertable, and still contaminate the worms)
I grew up on an organic farm too (way back when dinosaurs roamed the earth, and dirt was clean)
