>>I've been going through many books and looking over various caresheets, and am finding conflicting information. >> >>What would a recomended cage size for an adult male BP be? What is the minimum it would be comfortable in, and likewise, what would be considered to large and make it nervous?
A 20L would be the absolute minimum, with regular handling sessions for exercise, and even then it's best only for a short while. A 30 gallon or so would be the smaller end of adequate, and my male is quite happy in his 55 gallon aquarium, which is ideal. As far as the biggest end, I'm sure your imagination is the limit, along with making sure there's enough hideys, heat sources, and water sources, and the snake doesn't have to sacrifice one for the other.
~jenny ----- 1.1 normal ball pythons (Cindy and Darwin) 1.0 rex rat (Scurvy) 0.1 bunny (Spazz) 2.1 betta fishes (Vicious, Killer, and Butters) 3.1 great danes (Shasta, Odysseus, Merlot, and Watson) 1.0 fat fuzzy mutt (Smokey) 1.1 cats (Thidwick and Turtle) 2.0 horses (Buddy and Sam) 1.0 goat (Billy Jack) 2.25 chickens (Jacques the rooster and his harem)
but what I really want is more ball pythons!
