OUCH!!!
Well, you made me feel better about my situation. I walked into the snake room this morning, and my alcohol spray bottle was on the floor. I had visitors last night, so I didn't think much of it. Just picked it up and put it back on top of the rack. Left the room for a few minutes. When I came back, my note pad was on the floor. Uh oh! I think I have a snake on the loose! I started checking through all the enclosures (about 40), and came to an empty one that shouldn't have been empty. My son's little spider female was on the run! To make matters worse, this is a snake that hasn't been eating, and is due for another tube feed. I searched the tops of the racks first, since I knew she had been up there. Nope. Pulled all the tubs and looked in and behind. Nope. Two of my racks are on wheels, and one isn't. I pulled the two on wheels out. Still no snake. Well, I figured under the third rack was a likely hiding spot, so I very carefully started working it out from the wall. Tilted it up, and sure enough, there was Charlotte. Couldn't reach her while holding up the rack, so I grabbed a hook, and then was able to get her out. Moved her to a more secure tub!
Wow, I just happened to think, I should have put a hopper mouse under there with her. Either she would have eaten for the first time on her own, or come runnin' out of there!
