For as long as you can. It looks in the picture like he is closing one eye. Eye closure especially of one eye can be a very bad sign and can be a sign of organ damage. Especially kidneys. Sometimes it can signal some kind of infection especially in the mouth or head area. Go watch him for a time and make sure he does not close one or both eyes for any length of time during the day. A healthy cham does not keep their eyes closed for any length of time during the day. If you see one eye close and slightly sink in a bit like the one eye went to sleep it is a bad sign. Also ask them to feed him for you so you can make sure he is eating. Ask lots of questions about how they provide water and supplementation. good luck.
