Sounds like a female to me.....depending on the size. If she's on the larger size, 3/4" isn't much. I have a large Biak chondro that was sold to me as a male several years ago. After paying attention to feeding habits, body shape, and 2 failed breeding attempts, I decided to re-probe. Well what do ya know..."he" probed 10 scales deep. Now, 10 scales would typically indicate a male, but I threw a male in with him and they locked up within minutes. When the time comes, just put another male in there and see what happens. At least you don't have to worry about combat death as with chondros.....they fight till one or both die. Good luck.
