Wow! The below info is something I found through a Google search...

If Boas genes work the same as humans...which I am sure they do...look how many genes are just in Chromosome 11 ....!!!

That is intense.

Also some info I am reading says that the T positive gene is responsible for vision as well ...because of the color for retina production....

Has anyone noticed this eye blindness in the T positive litters?? I think this is good info even though it sounds kinda negative...Andy

Where is the TYR gene located?

Cytogenetic Location: 11q14-q21

Molecular Location on chromosome 11: base pairs 88,550,687 to 88,668,473

The TYR gene is located on the long (q) arm of chromosome 11 between positions 14 and 21.

More precisely, the TYR gene is located from base pair 88,550,687 to base pair 88,668,473 on chromosome 11.

See How do geneticists indicate the location of a gene? in the Handbook.

What is chromosome 11?

Chromosome 11 is one of the 23 pairs of chromosomes in humans. People normally have two copies of this chromosome. Chromosome 11 spans about 134 million base pairs (the building blocks of DNA) and represents between 4 percent and 4.5 percent of the total DNA in cells.

Identifying genes on each chromosome is an active area of genetic research. Because researchers use different approaches to predict the number of genes on each chromosome, the estimated number of genes varies. Chromosome 11 likely contains between 1,300 and 1,900 genes.

Genes on chromosome 11 are among the estimated 20,000 to 25,000 total genes in the human genome.

There are many genetic conditions related to genes on chromosome 11.

Is there a standard way to diagram chromosome 11?

Geneticists use diagrams called ideograms as a standard representation for chromosomes. Ideograms show a chromosome's relative size and its banding pattern. A banding pattern is the characteristic pattern of dark and light bands that appears when a chromosome is stained with a chemical solution and then viewed under a microscope. These bands are used to describe the location of genes on each chromosome.

Thought you may like the reading...Andy
