You are exactly right. To add, Hogg Island Boas are considered a location specific natural hypo. but not considered a salmon hypo. I've never seen Nicaraguan hypos referred to as salmons either. Caramels fall under the definition of hypo, but would never be called a salmon. They have something totally different going on.

Almost all salmon hypos started from Richs' blood line which I believe is a combination of Panamanian and columbian blood among others. Salmons are generally not thought of as a local specific animal, but more of a selective breeding project for factors like color, contrast , and overall appeal.
