Uh... money for crickets he'll eat tons of them

if you are getting a baby be ready to switch cages at least 1-2 times .... when less than 6" best to have a smaller home so you can control crickets, temps etc...

my kid went from 5" to 16 " in less then 5 months!

if you use a 10 or 20 gallon tank to start with then it can be your cricket tank later ....

at least one UVB fixture -- some debate on the use of MV incandecant lamps, search here for why and why not...

I am using a florecent tube and two 150 watt lights for basking and basic light. for cold times I also have a 75 watt heat lamp

as needed.

containers to hold veggies and stuff.

keep them seperate from your normal use at home just in case...

a reptile can be a carrier for some stuff like salmonela

not a big problem but best to keep some things seperate just in case.

get a digital indoor / outdoor thermomiter for about 20-40 bucks from a target or home depot.

more accutate and may have a store high / low temp feature to help you keep the right temps.

just in case you may find a "bird first aid" kit at a well stocked pet shop.

the styptic used for birds bleeding can be used the same way if a dragon gets a small wound.

also the kit will have beatdyne for disinfecting a wound ... and a few odds and ends.... just in case someting happens good to have on hand.

FIND A VET NOW!! when I had to find one I spent a whole day traking down who knew how to treat a reptile...

dogs and cats can fin d vets all over, birds almost ... but lizards and snakes are a much less comon item for most vets to spend time learning how to treat.
