When I went to pick up my snake, she appeared on guard (something she NEVER is). She let me pick her up just fine but her behavior was odd. I also noticed her back half was completely limp. I saw her enclosure temperature has gotten up to 94 degrees (daytime temp is usually 83 to 89). I put her back in her enclosure after it had cooled and her behavior has stayed the same (real passive, but still on guard). To see if there was feeling in the limp part, I touched her tail and she reacted. So there's feeling, but no muscle tone. Did the heat cause this? Is there something else I need to be looking for? She's moving around as though she had full use of her body (although she looks awkward hanging off the driftwood). Any suggestions on what this could be, how dangerous it is, or how to help it? Thanks.



She's a Brazilian Rainbow Boa, about 24 inches, housed in a ten gallon tank with warm and cool ends, a hide, foliage (silk), and a water container large enough for her to soak. Cypress bedding.
