The reason I am going with injection molding is that an injection molded part is "perfect" every time. Almost no variation in size and all the tubs will nest precisely with each other and the cost to the customer will be reduced by about 50% and since we all hate paying a lot for tubs, injection molding is the only option.

We have a whole line of roto molded tubs that work great in a variety of applications, but they cost a fortune to mold which means we have to sell them at a little more than a fortune to stay in business.

Vacuum forming has a bunch of problems, not the least of which is wall thickness thinning in the corners and the fact that each tub comes out a slightly different size...plus, they cost a fortune.

You should see the injection molding machine necessary to shoot such a large tub...it is 50 feet long, 20 feet wide and about 12 feet tall. It is really something watching a 1200 ton machine push 15 pounds of molten plastic into a mold.
