I don't know many working people that can justify paying thousands of dollars for a snake. There are quite a few people who are willing to pay under 100$ for a pet,but when you expect to get 5000$ or more you are getting into a very small segment of our society. So naturally 20$ corn snakes sell much better than 1500$ ball python morphs. I have seen the ball pythons at the Daytona show and see 25$ (normal) ball pythons that don't appear very diffrent from 1000$ morphs right next to it.
