I've been reading prior posts on feeding lizards to alterna. It's all very interesting. All of my alterna, most wild caught or hatched from clutches from wild caught feed on f/t mice. I have one palma draw animal that will only take lizards. I collect lizards here and there, from Cal., Texas and the south east on field trips and freeze them for future scenting for hatchlings and then feed them off to the palma draw animal. I have two more alterna which are wild caught and feed on f/t mice but are reluctant feeders and are hard to put body wieght on. I hate to feed lizards because they are hard to get a steady supply of. Tonight I fed a large f/t broad headed skink to my stair-case 277 male who takes mice but reluctantly and remains thin after two years. He jumped on it like he hasn't seen a meal in years. I have also had the same problems others have mentioned about fertility in my alterna. I would like to experiment with lizard diets for breeders but can't possibly obtain enough lizards. Anyone know a supplier that can provide a steady and consistant supply?
