Pond Filter DIY

Would like to DIY a filter setup for 1300 gal turtle pond, possibly moving bed filter using BioFlow floating media, with some form of prefiltration and fines removal after the moving bed. Any suggestions? Can I utilize Koi filtration guidelines? Not sure how turtles compare.
