Glad to see your taking the necessary steps in order to care for this animal. As stated before veilds are cheaper but if you are doing your homework correctly you should have no problems with husbandry for a panther or jackson. Be sure to do your research though and learn all you can of its requirements as well as buy from a known reputable breeder. Even with that though, you can still have illnesses so being prepared ahead of time with a vet that specializes in chams is a MUST. Have a fecal done as soon as you acquire your new cham. Recently I acquired a female from a reputable breeder that was infested heavily with Coccidia so you never know. Good luck to you and feel free to ask more questions if the need arises.
