I've done it too, and really enjoyed it. But, you've got to have the right type of space in the house. If you can't confine the cham to an area that is safe from hazards like other pets, heat, cold, getting trapped behind things, etc. it could be a problem. Check moving sales for big plants. There is an article on free ranging melleri on the chameleonnews.com ezine. It is back a couple of years, but may answer a lot of your questions.
