Depending on how you feed it, anywhere's from 8 feet. As far as sexing it goes there are two general methods, popping, and probing. Popping is quick but not reccomended, and probing you would need a tool. If your on pretty good terms with a Reptile Shop I am sure they would be happy to do it for you. Mine was. It's a good thing if someone teaches you while you hands on as you are right there, because of the possibility of injuring the snake.
