If you are looking to take good close ups,you are going to want a higher optical zzom, and be less concerned with digital zoom.

At some point I may get a nice camera, but I dont need to see veins in eyes right now.

All the pictures below were taken using an olympus D390, which went for about 150 new, back in 03.It's a 3.2 mp, budget camera, but gets the job done for me.
