>>Roberta is a 52 inches long female, rather slim, but strong and (now) healthy.

>>

>>I've had her since June. She was found as an apparent DOR in extreme western WV. After moving her off the road to take a pic, I was astounded to find she was alive, but badly injured. At that point, it stopped being a postmortem and became a rescue. (Pic with the ciggy box - note blood she coughed up.)

>>

>>She had suffered a terrific blow to the top of her head, and showed all the symptoms one would expect from a severe concussion. She took almost a month to shake off the cobwebs. At first she would show interest in food, but would not accept mice alive, F/K, or F/T. She fed the first time in late August, taking a F/T mouse.

>>

>>Since then she has shed twice, and is looking super. She eats F/K and F/T without problems. She has quickly become my favorite, has a sweet disposition, and tons of personality. Today, she hung out with me, curled up in my shirt sleeve, poking her head out and watching me while I drank coffee and surfed. Shortly after, she ate 2 F/T mice and retired to her hidey hole to rest and digest.

>>

>>I have decided to keep her, since she has adjusted well, and seems quite happy. I named her after my late wife - they are from the same home town!

>>

>>Here are a few other pics. Some of you may have seen these before, I hope you don't mind my reposting.

Where exactly in WV did you find her? I`m from the Parkersburg/Minera Wells area of WV. The black rats I have been removing from peoples` yards barns etc.. have been quite docile. In fact many wild black rats that I have relocated were "nicer" than one of my CB Everglades. LOL. Great save and thanks for caring.
