Viper boas need very high humidity around 80 plus percent. A huge water bowl that they can soak in and I usually give them alot of bedding because they like to burrow. There temp range is a little lower than bci. It does sound like a respitory infection. I would get him to a vet and raise the temp a little and keep the humidity high. Hope this helps Vinnie
