I can say from personal experience, you can do it. My experience consists of only one pair like that, but they were quite sucessful breeders, making 4 clutchs in 5 years. Just watch for a while after you put them together, like you would any pair. if you think about it, the male is going to be on top of the female for most of courting and breeding anyway, except the last few inches of them anyway : )
