I've heard of females being picky about the males they will breed with, but what about the other way around?

We tried our DH sunglow male in with our 100% het and he shows very little interest, so to mix things up we put him in with our 50% het... and he went to courting right away. When put back with the other girl he again shows no interest. Is there any way to spark his interest in the other girl? Obviously we'd rather breed him to the 100% het than the 50%.
