I used to breed my mice in an outdoor closet (to cut down on the smell). I would invariably find one or two wild yearling TX ratsnakes a season in a mouse cage with that "I can't believe I ate the whole thing!" look on their faces. I would just put them outside and let them go along their way.

A friend who lived nearby had a similar problem, but his most common offenders were Louisiana Milksnakes in the mouse room. They never managed to climb up into the cages like the ratsnakes do.
