Duméril's Boas are Acrantophis dumerili. They are not within the genus Boa.
Anyway, the rat/mouse may have been frozen or a long time, or thawed in a way to cause it to break down early. When I had my very first snake I would heat the frozen mouse up under a lamp, and the stomach ruptered a few times. I've found the BEST way to thaw rodents it to place them in a zip-lock bag and let them sit out over night (the same way you thaw meat to cook).
