I was soaking my snake tonight because I noticed he has mites (I think it came from another snake tank...) Anyway, I put him in a good size tub with warm water and put him in.

For a while, he just swam around madly. I think he hates being water - he never ever soaks himself in his tank. Then, he settled down and just sort of stayed put.

But I noticed, his middle was floating.

This is my question, is it normal for his middle to float? He did eat on Monday (today is Wednesday). Or is this the sign of something else? (I may be a little paranoid - I lost a snake after a month because of an infection that didn't show any obvious signs until it was too late.)

Any help would be VERY appreciated.

Thank you.
