I am no expert but here are a few ideas....

Ask the vet if the snake might have been rubbing his nose and caused an infection that may have spread to the mouth? Or a respetory infection might have caused mouth rot. The vet may check the trachea(sp) for mucus, which might help determine if repertory infection is an issue in addition to the mouth problem. I think a 3% iodine solution might be better than mouth wash for mouth rot. If the infection is bad enough the vet may recommend something like baytil. maybe .1 cc per pound every other day? Also you might want to raise the hot spot on the cage to about 90 degrees or so.

Just some ideas.. i might be way off. Any other ideas out there
