go to your vet and just ask if you can get some chlorhexidine. They might ask you to pay like $5 for it. Its a blue liquid and you mix it 50/50 with water. Just put the diluted chlorohexidine on a q-tip and rub the effected areas like twice-three time a day. chlorohexidine is an antimicrobial and will kill off any bacteria infection that could be going on, and its totally painless (I would imagine that mouthwash would sting like crazy.....its putting alcohol into a deep cut). Also (I swear by the chlorohexidine) it works amazing on mouth rot, cuts, mite, its a great cage cleaner, respritory infections, so far everything. And I've never ever had any adverse affects from it. I'm just a novice though, compared to most people in here. If anyone knows something that I don't please call me on it, cause I'd like to know too =)
You have to get it from a vet, because they use it on mouth injuries in dogs & cats too. I have seen some venders at shows selling it, and at petsmart they had mouth wash for dogs that had chlorohexidine as an ingrediant, but I don't know how the other stuff in it would effect a snake. Wow this is long, sorry!!
p.s. chlorohexidine also works great at helping peircings heal =) ----- Alone, alone, all, all alone. Alone on a wide, wide sea.
