I dont think they are any more capable of emotion anymore than any other reptile, but I do agree there is more of a "spark" than most other comonly kept reptiles. They are creatures of habit and routine. They see the tube comeing every day and crickets come out so when they see the tube, they know there is crickets in there. If they see you feed them, they know you bring their food. Or if they are handled often and want to get out they are going to be up on the glass when they see you come in the room because they know you can get them out. Its not that they like you or care, its just that you fit their needs.
As far as anthropomorphizing goes, I dont see any harm in it (you should see me with my dog :x ) its just misguided. ----- - Mike Fourquet
