My cousin and I were talking about this the other day. I like and use Boaphiles, but I was looking at options for displays as well.
We though, why not buy the 1/4 inch solid Oak (found in plywood area of Home Depot) and cut it to frame the cages. You could cover top and sides for every exposed surface, and make a frame for the front. As long as you cut notches for the hinges, and attach it directly to the plastic, it would not hinder the door from opening, and it would look great. You could stain it to match the furniture of your living room or office.
Best part, you still get the high quality secure Boaphile. It just looks a little different on the outside.
My room back home has two closets, each 4' long and 30" deep. So I took the doors off one, removed the tracks, and painted the inside. Put a stand in there, and my cages fit perfectly. To be honest, it looks GOOD!
