Yep sounds like toast to me.
Thats the way those ZooMed/ReptiLife act when they start their meltdown.

When I plug the main in without a heater attached, the red indicating light stays on continuously - normal. When I plug a heater into it (tried several), the light goes out - not normal. When I move the temperature dial over its range, the indicator light fades in and out but does not stay on - also not normal. Just time for a new thermostat? Any input would be very much appreciated. Adam
