I know if i "felt threatened" by a venomous snake, i wouldnt be stupid enough to even get close enough to it where i could chop the head off. i would be going in the other direction. you dont just go into a nature trail and kill an animal that lives there. you also dont pick it up and move it either, whats that all about? I dont understand how he feels he shouldnt be punished for it. and i dont understand these rights he thinks the snake has that he doesnt- the snake had no right to be killed, just as that man has no right to be killed. if anything the snake had more of a right to be there than that guy did. a life is a life no matter what species you are. im glad he was punished for it.

>>Notice in the article how everybody saw the little rattler when it was 6-8 feet away; the guy still picked it up and took it to a fishing dock; then carried it to a parking lot; then he cut off its head and rattle with a shovel when he felt "threatened". Yeah, sure. His fine will probably be insignificant, but it's great that some people in Michigan took this seriously enough to hold him accountable.

>>>>Convicted of killing the rattlesnake during an afternoon outing Aug. 9 with his two sons and their friend at Pickeral Lake northwest of Ann Arbor, 47-year-old James Galloway says he was protecting nearby children and himself, according to the report.
