Nick, Find a way to get your wife interested/involved with the snakes. It may take a while, it did for me, but now my wife has her own Corn snake set up in the den. We know they're tame, but a 2000 gram Ball python looks intimidating to someone that doesn't know. Pick up a baby Corn for the family...they'll come around.
