In my opinion and experience, I say forget what a lot of other "breeders" are saying about what can breed and what cant. I mean sure there are limits but...When I first got started I wanted to use a large group(8 males) of various 100% het morphs most were barely 450g and all but one bred, he had respiratory. Everyone told no way could that many breed and if they did most wouldnt have viable sperm and cause my females to slug-out, but they didnt. I use 3-4 females per male.
Another example are females, When I held back some female pastels all 6 were between 1000-1100g and again everybody said I was nuts, once again my clutches showed me otherwise.
So I say go for it and your male probably got the job done and if you want to be certain just keep putting him back and forth between rest! Good Luck
