Butcher paper (like the big rolls used in elementary schools) is okay but not nearly as absorbent as newspaper. I have never had any problems iwth using just regular printed newspaper (I usually let it sit for a day or two) but if you have a source for the by products of paper companies, even better. There are also ways to get the corregated cardboard by products that come n various sizes that also work real well.
