I just went up to a reptile show today. There were some really awesome animals there, but I knew what I wanted before I went. I came home with a beautiful female ball python, and all the supplies that I need to take care of her. I got a custom ordered terrarium to fit perfectly on top of a shelf I have, great stuff! All in all I spent maybe 140 on everything. My boyfriend is giving me a spare bottom heater he has so that excluded. (I bought a dimmer for it at home depot) Not too bad for a college student's budget.
I'm just spreading all of the good news. As soon as I get a picture I'll post it up. She doesn't have any special genetic traits but that doesn't really matter to me. (nor can I afford it!)
Right now I'm keeping my new ball python in my other snake's enclosure (a baby western hognose) because it's roomy enough and it will stay closed. And for now my other snake is going in another terrarium that lacks a good lid. That's okay though since that snake isn't nearly long enough or strong enough to get to the top of that terrarium. (my western hog misses her burrowing, sani-chips are in the broken tank that she's in, but I gave her plenty of hides) She'll be back to burrowing on monday when my ball python's tank is ready.

My mother suggested I name my new girl Lucy... as in Lucille BALL... Is that too terribly cliche'? Other name suggestions would be appreciated!
