Incubation Substrate

Hey all,
I just introduced my male and female Antaresia maculosa (spotted python) together, and they've locked up at least once.
I was thinking of using medium grade vermiculite or perlite as an incubation substrate. What does everyone here who breeds use?
I'd especially like to hear from those of you who breed pythons in the genus Antaresia.
