Its true that everytime one is offered in the local want ads or I hear of someone local finding one, its already well started or at an adult size. I would say more than anything else, their success rate in nature is probably due to the fact that they're nocturnal and hide very well during the day. Not to mention being aquatic, the minerals and algae that collect on their shells are good camo. I'll show you guys the ad that I found in the paper when I get the chance.
