I suspect that the size of his food is too large. My largest 1 1/2 yr old male is just over 3 ft, and 1.5 lbs. Females will grow faster generally. To me a typical female should be around 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 ft by the end of their third year, and males less. It seems that more and more people are trying to rush their Boas growth. I'm not saying that you are doing this, its just the popular trend. 12 years ago, I hadn't even heard of people feeding their Boas any more than every 10 days at the most. I was always told that they'll be ready to breed at around 5 yrs old. Now its more common to see females breeding at 2 1/2. I personally don't think thats right. Patience always pays off. Their's a reason that pro-dog breeders wait until the second heat before breeding - even though they can produce in their 1st heat, the quality breeders give them time to mature. [ Hide Replies ]
