They sound kind of like our mesquites, you can abuse them & they do just fine. My sister has never lived here so she freaked out one day when she saw a man in our parent's neighborhood hacking up a mesquite "he's hurting that tree!!!" she yelled.

We all looked out & everybody said at the same time.. "ahh he's not hurting it, it's just a mesquite."

You can take whatever you want off one to dry out to use for firewood in your bar-b-que pit.. won't hurt a thing. LOL

Thanks for posting- you have a nice group of turtles yourself.
