As long as it creates heat and bright light they should all work. I use regular house incandescent bulbs or halogen porch spotlights in large setups. For the higher wattages I use ceramic sockets as the cheaper plastic ones tend to overheat and fail. The UV brand does make a difference as most bulbs marketed as "full spectrum" just don't produce much of the correct UV. Independent testing still rates the Reptisun 5.0 highly compared to others. If you want to use the combination UV and heat spots the brand may make a difference, but I have not tried them. They are touchy, produce a lot of heat that can burn if put too close, relatively expensive, and can explode if they get any spray. [ Hide Replies ]
