I don't know what incubater you have or how you have it set up, but this is how I do it and haven't had any humidity problems at all. I mix my vermic. like you did, place it in a plstic shoe box, then add the eggs half way down in it. Then to ensure that I don't need to add more water to the vermic as they incubate. I place 1 dixie cup in each corner and fill 1/2 with water. Cover the shoe box with plastic wrap to hold humid. put the cover back on and in the incubater it goes. This way you shouldn't have to add water and take the chance of adding to much. This is my third year breeding and had 100 perc. hatch this way! Maybe someone else has a different way. Just saying how I do it.

PS (Covering the box with wrap requires you to crack it open every other day or so for air)
