a strong GOD given back is necessary and a lot of caution to take him out.(HE'LL be snapping anything he can get a hold of.) but for cleaning the pool i leave him in,drain the tub,wash him down good. i scrub down the side he's not on. drag him to the otherside and finish the job. cleaning is no problem but hoisting him out for a pic or to show freinds is work and i usually get soaked. believe me its no fun being crunched on by a big one.
